Dr Joannis Sekoulidis

Principal Dentist

Without a doubt, dentistry is a passion of mine! After taking a one-year hiatus in my mid 20s in order to figure out what my life’s work should be, I came to the conclusion that dentistry was it. The combination of technical skill, spatial awareness and patient contact was a perfect fit for me. And so today, I look forward to sharing this passion with you, your family and friends! My goal as a dentist is to always provide the best oral health for my patients so that their mouth stays healthy not only today, but for years to come.

I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. I am currently an active member in the dental community, having been a representative for the Ontario Dental Association and an elected member of its General Council. Before going into dentistry, I completed my Masters at the University of Toronto in Alzheimer’s disease related research and studied the role of the immune system in health at the PhD level.

Furthermore, I have completed extensive continuing education and certification in the dental field with topics such as prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, general treatment planning and implantology. I have a keen interest in implants and am proud to have received my Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in acknowledgement of my training and abilities to place dental implants.

Lastly, when I go home, I enjoy what most people do — I love food, music, watching a movie and occasionally enjoying a cold beverage on a hot summer day. I also have a soft spot for watching my favourite Toronto team, the Raptors, play their heart out every season. But most of all, I love spending time with my family, friends and my wife and true love, Patrycja, and our somewhat clumsy and loving dog, Henry.

I love being a dentist! Dentistry runs in my family and I’m happiest when I’m fixing teeth!  I graduated from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry in Halifax, and worked in Nova Scotia for a few years before moving home to Mississauga.  I’m excited to join the team at The Dental Clinic!  Regardless of your age, I take great care to ensure that each patient has an enjoyable experience in the office and walks out smiling!  When I’m not working in the clinic, I am an instructor at the University of Toronto’s Dental Faculty instructing students in the pre-clinical Restorative discipline.

My dental philosophy is that the prevention of oral disease is the foundation for good oral health and I take pride in educating my patients on how to maintain a healthy mouth and prevent oral disease.

In my spare time, I am a competitive rower, and enjoy baking, skiing, and camping.

It is my pleasure to be a part of the fabulous team at The Dental Clinic!

As a dentist, I love seeing my patients and helping them achieve and preserve their best smiles. To do this, I am an advocate of preventive and patient-focused care which is catered to individual needs. I completed my training in the Doctor of Dental Medicine program at the University of Sydney in sunny Australia, where I worked in private practice along the coast before returning to my hometown in Toronto.

I am always interested in the latest techniques and technologies to make modern dentistry a more comfortable experience. I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry, whether it be to improve aesthetics, to reclaim function or to provide relief of pain for patients of all ages. I am committed to continuing education especially in my areas of interest such as endodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery.

Outside of dentistry, I’m a huge foodie and enjoy drawing and painting in traditional and digital media, playing tennis and fishing.

Cheers,

 Dr.Deanna Lue

Bonjour ! Originally from Quebec City, I lived in Montreal for 7 years and have been living in the beautiful GTA for 16 years. I have worked as a dental hygienist for the past 22 years and I’m really passionate about my job and all of my patients. At the dental clinic, we’re like a family; we truly enjoy each other’s company and the clinic’s atmosphere makes it a great place to work. In addition, it is really awesome to work with professionals that are all care about our patients well being.
I’m the mother of twins and I’m a real soccer, baseball and hockey mom! I enjoy good food, the occasional glass of wine (every weekend !) and watching a great movie on a Friday night. Renovating is also one of my hobbies.

Victoria

Dental Hygienist

Since moving to the GTA in 2016, Ontario has quickly become a place for me to call home. I grew up in Kelowna, B.C., but have also lived in Victoria, B.C. and Calgary, Alberta. Throughout my travels, I’ve found that it’s the people that make a place feel like home – the familiar faces and familiar smiles.

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, I strive to work alongside my clients in a collaborative effort to help achieve not only a healthy, confident smile, but sustainable overall health.

From scuba diving off the B.C. coast to camping and canoeing in Algonquin Park – you can always expect to find me outdoors during my time away from the office.

Dental Hygienist

I was born in Frankfurt, Germany and have been in Canada now for 40 years — 32 of those have been in the dental field! I have been a dental hygienist for 23 years and have worked in British Columbia as well as Ontario. I love providing quality care to my patients and educating them to be the healthiest they can be. Our office has the most sophisticated technology and current information to help provide that care. I also love spending time with my patients, many of whom I would also consider friends. In my spare time (what spare time?), I enjoy renovating my 100-year-old house, gardening, travelling and working with animals.

Dental Assistant

It all started in 2010, when I moved to Moncton, New Brunswick to attend Oulton College and their Level II Dental Assisting program. One year later, I moved back to my hometown, Fredericton. I worked as a full time Dental Assistant for four years but felt I needed to broaden my surroundings. In February of 2015, my two kitties and I trekked along until we met our destination: Toronto.

Since joining the dental clinic family shortly thereafter, I feel cared for and appreciated more than ever before. My job presents differently every single day on a patient-to-patient basis. What stays the same, though, is how I strive to make patients feel comfortable the moment they enter the office to the moment they leave. If you can’t find me at the office, you can find me at home staying low key or out exploring new parts of Toronto.

Cindy

Front Desk Receptionist

Hi, my name is Cinderelle but everyone calls me Cindy. I’m originally from the Philippines where I worked as an Electronics and Communication Engineer. When I came in Toronto, I received my Medical Office Assistant Certificate and I ended up working in The Dental Clinic as a Dental Receptionist. I am hardworking, reliable, friendly and compassionate. I’m proud to say I love working with the “Dream Team” because we treat each other like a family. The amount of teamwork I see between us is fascinating. I don’t think I’ve seen this level of trust with any other team I’ve worked with before. In addition, I learn new and interesting things from the patients so I enjoy interacting with them. There is always a joy to see them satisfied after their visit to the office.

During weekends, I enjoy being with my family. We usually go to church on Sundays to give thanks to the Lord and ask guidance for the rest of the week.

Operations Director

Originally hailing from a small village in Poland, I held down a myriad of jobs from fashion to tree planting before ending up at the dental clinic.  I was lucky enough to help design this clinic and and today, enjoy the variety of tasks my job here offers.  But what I love most about my job is the TDC team  —  they are kind, dedicated and hard working.

In my personal life, my insatiable curiousity and love of trying new things ensures I am always travelling, reading or trying new recipes.  Currently, I oversee the clinic mostly from afar, as my career as a middle school teacher in downtown Toronto takes up most of my time.

Former Greeter at Front Desk

My name is Henry and I’m a black goldendoodle with a big appetite for life (okay, and food)! I don’t shed and I’m hypoallergenic…you could say I’m the neatest dog around. I used to work at the front desk of the clinic every day, but the lovely patients got me so excited that I couldn’t help but say hello (in the human world, they called this jumping and barking) at every opportunity. Right now I just pop in once in a while to say hello. I’m working on managing my bark and excitement and hope to be back at the clinic as a permanent fixture at the front desk soon! My mom says not to hold my breath on that one…
